Echo Park  — Maintenance workers discovered the body of a man this morning inside a public restroom at Echo Park Lake, police said.

It’s not clear how the man — described as a white male in his 20s — died but foul play was not suspected, said Detective John Motto with the LAPD Rampart Division. He said it’s up to the coroner to decide how the man died.

Park visitors this morning saw officers and officials with the coroner’s office outside the restrooms near the Echo Park Lake Boathouse.

The discovery of the body comes one day after another man was found dead about a mile away at the Edendale post office on Alvarado Street. Police are waiting on the county coroner to determine if that man died from natural causes or if it was a homicide.
